STEAM is the exciting and natural integration of: SCIENCE - TECHNOLOGY - ENGINEERING - ARTS - MATH, where children are encouraged to question, think, build, create, explore, invent, and challenge themselves and the world around them.

PreSchool
PreSchool learned about spiders in October. They watched a spider spin a web on a video and then tried to create their own spider webs.
PreSchool children worked on a chromatography experiment, creating colorful leaves.
PreK finished up their butterfly study by making a model of the life cycle.
PreK has been learning about bears. They have gone on a "bear hunt," learned about how bears go into a state of torpor instead of true hibernation, and can even tell you about the 8 different kinds of bears that live in our world.
PreK children have also been working on creating a bear habitat which will become home to the clay bears they will be making soon.
Kindergarteners have been learning about symmetry and have hiked the campus to find things that are symmetrical.
Kindergarteners have also been studying pumpkins and apples.
Apple engineering, Max created a container that can hold and carry at least 3 apples.
Kindergarten experienced a little chemistry time.
Kindergarteners hiked, planted garlic, picnicked, adopted a tree, and explored the woods at Bauer Park.
First Graders also took a trip to Bauer Park to learn all about plants and soil. They dissected and labeled flowers and plants, and became soil scientists by studying soil and performing a percolation test.
First graders taught the 8th Graders all about flight. They did an amazing job!
First graders have been learning about bones and owls. They dissected a virtual pellet on iPads and we will experience the real thing this week when we dissect actual owl pellets.
